Sodium laureth sulfate are synthetic cleansing agents that are small molecule ingredients. They are capable of penetrating the skin, which can increase the occurrence of skin irritation.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate: A high foaming, viscous surfactant, milder to the skin than sodium lauryl sulfate. It is an excellent cleansing agent for shampoos.

Three kinds of surfactants are used in shampoos: ammonium laurel sulfate, sodium laurel sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate. Sodium laureth sulfate is the most expensive of the three, but it is also the gentlest.

These can irritate your skin, especially in foaming gels which also contain sodium laureth sulfate. So if you have sensitive skin, select a special shower gel made for sensitive skin.

Also I do know from expirience try using the ARM AND HAMMER laundry products and to anyone else who wants to compare soaps and shampoos they all have a common ingrediant of SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE OR SODIM LAURYL SULFATE. which is what makes it foam.
