STEARYL ALCOHOL: An emulsifier and thickener found in a variety of vegetable fats. Also acts as an emulsion stabilizer, emollient, anti-foam agent and lubricant.

 


Stearyl Alcohol Plant derived emulsifier; meaning the "core" of the ingredient was a specific part of a plant and derived from it. This creates a stable and clean emulsion. Also used as a thickener.

Stearyl Alcohol: An emulsion stabilizer; also adds body to a lotion.
Sunflower Oil: Obtained from sunflower seeds. Bland, pale yellow oil that contains large amounts of Vitamin E. Natural oil.

Stearyl Alcohol
Has been shown to cause allergies and dermatitis.
Sucrose
Sugar, starting ingredient for preservatives and antioxidants and a substutite for glycerin.

Stearyl alcohol - an emollient emulsifier.
Stratum corneum - the uppermost layer of the skin.
Subcutaneous - under the skin.

Stearyl alcohol
Derived from stearic acid and from vegetable fatty acids; soothe, softens, and an emulsifier.
Sucrose (sugar)
Derived from sugar beets; alpha hydroxy, gentle exfoliant and antioxidant.

Stearyl Alcohol: An emulsion stabilizer; also adds body to a lotion.
Stenosis: Narrowing or stricture of a duct or canal.
Sterile: Unable to produce offspring; barren. 2. Aseptic; free from living microorganisms.

Stearyl Alcohol
A natural fatty alcohol, very similar to cetyl alcohol. Derived from coconut oil.

Cetyl/Oleyl/Stearyl Alcohol
Seeing the word alcohol may set off an alarm (Drying! Bad!). Not to worry: These are hydrating alcohols that attach themselves to the outside of the hair shaft and act as lubricants.

Stearic Acid and Stearyl Alcohol
Used for its emollient properties and as a moisturizing ingredient.

Made from cetyl and stearyl alcohol's which together form an occlusive film to keep skin moisture from evaporating. They give hair and skin a velvety feeling.
