Teratogenic: Causing birth defects.
Terminal: The definition of a terminal, as it applies to cosmetics, is one of two types of hair shaft. The terminal hair shaft is thick, long and dark.
The most serious potential adverse effect of isotretinoin is that it is teratogenic: it can cause birth defects in the developing fetus of pregnant women who take the drug.
