During my treatment of 4 months for Vitiligo UVB treatment I will need to use a good sunblock. Would please advise me which the best one to protect my skin from getting over exposed to sun?

UVB Ray Plus Points: Essential for the synthesis of vitamin D, which is needed for growth, these are also the tanning rays.

UVB: Ultraviolet light, type B - rays of light from the sun that are not visible but can cause damage to the skin. Approximate wavelength: 285 to 320 nanometers. They cause cellular damage to outer layers of the skin. It's drying and it's aging.

ULTRAVIOLET B (UVB) RAYS
Also known as "burning rays," these rays from the sun are the primary rays associated with skin damage and cancer from the sun.

SPF only applies to UVB protection.
Reapplying a sunscreen does NOT extent the period of protection.

This blend contains high levels of naturally occurring anti-oxidants to help protect against cellular damage, reduce damage from UVA/UVB rays.

It is mainly used in broad spectrum protection products as it mainly protect the skin from UVB rays. It does block some UVA rays but not as much as other compounds.

Tan - When your skin is damaged by exposure to the UVA and UVB rays of the sun, its reaction is to produce more melanin as an attempt to protect itself against further damage.

Unlike Kojic acid and Papin, Arbutin can easily be used by those have sensitive skin. Its three main effects are anti-aging, skin whitening, and UVB/ UVC filtering (which helps in preventing tanning).

Its astringent properties make it useful as an aftershave and applied to blemishes and pimples. Sun preparations include witch hazel because it appears to counter the effects of UVA while acting as a UVA and UVB absorber.

Padimate O (Octyl Dimethyl PABA or 2-Ethyihexyl PABA): The ester of 2-ethyihexyl alcohol and dimethyl paminobenzoic acid. A "PABA~free" sunscreen, Padimate O is a derivative of PABA, but is no longer PABA.
