Volatile Oils
These oils can be extracted from flowers, seeds or leaves and they give each plant its characteristic scent. Most oils have calming and antiseptic properties.

RUE - A volatile oil which contains limonene. Completely safe way to deter insects. For centuries, the herb rue has been used in households to deter flies and ants in such things as arrangements, wreathes and potpourri.

Anise: A volatile oil in Aniseed to ease griping, intestinal colic and flatulence.

It is considered a non-Volatile oil. It is used as a moisturizer and has great skin softening properties. Aloe Vera - Known for years to have powerful Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Bacterial properties.

When obtained from Carrot leaves, there is some indication that the extract has cleaning and healing properties due to its strong antiseptic qualities. Carrot's medicinal properties depend on its volatile oil.

However, it may cause a little burning as its sulphur-containing volatile oils are very pungent. Its bactericidal effects are more potent than carbolic acid.
