Wheal

Wheal: Medically speaking a wheal is a rounded or flat-topped, firm elevated lesion that results from edema (swelling) of the dermis.

Itching, warmth, tingling, irritation, or burning usually precedes the onset of small wheals with large flares surrounding them.
Lesions may appear anyplace on the body but the palms or soles. Sometimes flares are the only sign that is visible.

Swelling of the surface of the skin into red- or skin-colored welts (called wheals) with clearly defined edges
The hives may get bigger, spread, and join together to form larger areas of flat, raised skin.
