Electrical energy or electromagnetic energy is a form of energy present in any electric field or magnetic field, or in any volume containing electromagnetic radiation.

Radiant energy travels in waves and is sometimes called electromagnetic energy. An example is visible light.
Photosynthesis converts light energy to chemical energy.
Energy that is stored is called potential energy.

The little light that does make it here is enough for the plants of the world to survive and go through the process of photosynthesis. Light is actually energy, electromagnetic energy to be exact.
