Endemism

Biology Embryonic stem cellEndergonic reaction

Endemism is the ecological state of being unique to a place. Endemic species are not naturally found elsewhere. The place must be a discrete geographical unit, such as an island, habitat type, or other defined area or zone.

endemism A state in which species are restricted to a single region.
endemnicity Amount or severity of a disease in a particular geographic area.
endergonic Used in reference to a chemical reaction that requires energy; energy absorbing.

If you use that term, it is meant to be a center of endemism, of high biological diversity, of a lot of species that aren't found anywhere else, and it's also an area that is under great threat. It needs to have all three of those characteristics.
