Eugenics is a social philosophy which advocates the improvement of human hereditary traits through various forms of intervention.

Eugenics and the state, 1890s-1945
One of the earliest modern advocates of eugenic ideas (before they were labeled as such) was Alexander Graham Bell, best known as one of the inventors of the telephone.

eugenics: The belief that information about heredity can be used to improve the human race.

Eugenics: The idea of improving the quality of human species by selective breeding. Encouraging breeding of those with supposedly good genes is positive eugenics, whereas discouraging those with genes for undesirable traits is negative eugenics.

Eugenics
The science dealing with the factors which tend to improve or impair hereditary qualities of a race or breed.

Eugenics -- the improvement of humanity by altering its genetic composition by encouraging breeding of those presumed to have desirable genes.

They implemented a plan of eugenics to "cleanse" the earth of "undesirables." Not surprisingly, they proposed to breed only a selected group of "Aryans" like them. They decreed them to be genetically superior.
