The types of ground tissue found in plants develop from ground tissue meristem and consists of three simple tissues: ...

ground tissue system
A tissue of mostly parenchyma cells that makes up the bulk of a young plant and fills the space between the dermal and vascular tissue systems.
growth factor ...

ground tissue Includes primary tissues of parenchyma, sclerenchyma, and collenchyma that make up much of the bulk of the primary plant body; function in support, photosynthesis, and storage; also known as fundamental tissue.

mesophyll
The ground tissue of a leaf, sandwiched between the upper and lower epidermis and specialized for photosynthesis.

The ground tissue comprises the bulk of the primary plant body. Parenchyma, collenchyma, and sclerenchyma cells are common in the ground tissue. Vascular tissue transports food, water, hormones and minerals within the plant.

Most of the interior of the leaf between the upper and lower layers of epidermis is a parenchyma (ground tissue) or chlorenchyma tissue called the mesophyll (= middle leaf).
