Kilobase (Kb or Kbp)
1000 nucleotides of DNA or RNA.
Kinase
An enzyme that transfers phosphate from ATP to another molecule.

Kilobase (kb)
Unit of length for DNA fragments equal to 1000 nucleotides.

Kilobase A unit of length equal to 1000 base pairs of a double-stranded nucleic acid molecule or to 1000 bases of a single-stranded molecule.
Kilocalorie (kcal) A unit of energy equal to 1000 calories, or 4.184 joules.

KILOBASE - Unit of 1000 nucleotide bases, either RNA or DNA.

kb (kilobase) 1000 nucleotides or nucleotide pairs - a unit of single or double stranded nucleic acid length measurement.
Kindred A very extended pedigree.

Enhancers can act on promoters over many tens of kilobases of DNA and can be 5' or 3' to the promoter they regulate. A eukaryotic DNA sequence that increases transcription of a region even if the enhancer is distant from the region being transcribed.

One first constructs a map of the chromosomes, marking them at regular intervals of about 100 kilobases (kb). Then, known segments of the marked chromosomes (which can contain very small fragments of DNA) are cloned in plasmids.

KB: abbreviation for kilobase, one thousand bases.

Kinase: A kinase is in general an enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to something else.

T-DNA insertion A physical mutagen that causes mutations by insertion of transfer DNA (with or without additional DNA sequences) into the genome. These tend to be large insertions in the kilobase range and thus are expected to knockout the gene ...

If it's a really big gene, it may be 10,000 base pairs, or essentially 10 kilobases long. So we use base pair as a unit of measurement of DNA and RNA as well as a term to describe the pairing relationship.

Introns are spliced out of the RNA transcript during its processing to mRNA.
kbp kilobase pairs. A measure of size of double-stranded DNA.
Kinasing= phosphorylation.

chromosomes arranged in a standard format showing the number, size, and shape of each chromosome type; used in low-resolution physical mapping to correlate gross chromosomal abnormalities with the characteristics of specific diseases.

sequence of bases in the DNA (gene), codes for the linear sequence of amino acids in the polypeptide (protein) for which it codes. Since proteins usually contain hundreds of amino acids, genes can be very long stretches of DNA (many kB or kilobases).
