Biology LocusLong

Lod Score A statistic giving the level of confidence in an estimate of linkage distance between two loci.
Lyonisation See X inactivation.

LOD score
A statistical estimate of linkage (logarithmic odds ratio) whether two loci are likely to lie near each other on the same chromosome and are therefore likely to be inherited together.

Submitted typing information is subjected to a "two-point" statistical analysis, and rhserver returns a list of markers that link to the subject marker with a LOD score of 6.0 or higher.

Lod score -- logarithm of the odd score; a measure of the likelihood of two loci being within a measurable distance of each other.
