Multiplexing: A sequencing approach that uses several pooled samples simultaneously, greatly increasing sequencing speed.
More recently, the scope of genetic epidemiology has expanded to include common diseases for which many genes each play make a smaller contribution (polygenic, multifactorial or multigenic disorders).
