N TERMINUS - See AMINO TERMINUS. NATIVE GEL - An electrophoresis gel run under conditions which do not denature proteins (i.e., in the absence of SDS, urea, 2-mercaptoethanol, etc.).
It is usually at the N terminus and normally absent from the mature protein.
