The ovules after fertilization develop into the seeds; the main parts of the ovule are the funicle; which attaches the ovule to the placenta, the nucellus; the main region of the ovule were the embryo sac develops, the micropyle; ...

The process of pollination being accomplished, the pollen tube grows through the stigma and style toward the ovules in the ovary. The germ cell in the pollen grain divides and releases two sperm cells which move down the pollen tube.

The ovary contains one or more ovules, which in turn contain one female gametophyte, also referred to in angiosperms as the embryo sac. Some plants, such as cherry, have only a single ovary which produces two ovules.

The megasporangia, called ovules, develop within the ovary.
Meiosis of the megaspore mother cell in each ovule produces 4 haploid cells:
a large megaspore and
3 small cells that disintegrate.

(Science: botany) a flowering, fruit-bearing plant or tree, the ovules (and therefore seeds) of these plants develop within an enclosed ovary. Plants having seeds in a closed ovary.Pertaining to plants that contain seeds enclosed in the [[ovary.

carpel The reproductive unit of angiosperms composed of a placental surface and ovules. A component of the gynoecium.
carpellate A unisexual flower having carpels but no stamens.
carpospore spores produced by the carposporophyte form of red algae ...

ovary -- In flowering plants, the part of the flower which encloses the ovules. When the ovary matures, it becomes the fruit.
ovule -- In seed plants, the structure which gives rise to the seed.

(oh-vur-ee) [L. ovum, egg]
1) In flowers, the portion of a carpel in which the egg-containing ovules develop. (2) In animals, the structure that produces female gametes and reproductive hormones.

pistil. Female part of the flower, usually consisting of ovules, ovary, style, and stigma.
pollinator. The agent of pollen transfer, usually bees.

Plants make pollen in the stamens (male parts) and ovules in the ovary (female part). There are many variations on this basic theme of making male and female gametes.

Their ovules are enclosed in the carpel and pollen travels through the pollen tube to reach it. Angiosperms evolved in the Cretaceous era together with the Mammals. Angiosperms in Tree of Life.
