Phagemid
A plasmid that contains a portion of a phage genome. Upon co-infection of the host with a Helper phage, the plasmid can be packaged into phage particles. A commonly used type of phagemid is packaged as ssDNA into phage M13 particles.

Phagemid: A type of plasmid which carries within its sequence a bacteriophage replication origin. When the host bacterium is infected with "helper" phage, the phagemid is replicated along with the phage DNA and packaged into phage capsids.

The standard phagemid will have been produced in large quantity, purified, and stored as individual aliquots kept at -70 °C.

PhagemidA plasmid-based vector which carries a filamentous phage ori , leading to production of single-stranded copies of the phagemid when the cell is infected with the relevant helper phage.
