Gel electrophoresis is a group of techniques used by scientists to separate molecules based on physical characteristics such as size, shape, or isoelectric point.

SDS-PAGE - Denaturing protein gel electrophoresis (see POLYACRYLAMIDE GEL ELECTROPHORESIS).

Sufficiently separated proteins in an SDS-PAGE can be transferred to a solid membrane for WB analysis.
