sequence tagged site or STS - Short (200 to 500 base pairs) DNA sequence that has a single occurrence in the human genome and whose location and base sequence are known.
See sequence tagged site. Related Terms: Sequence tagged site (STS) Short (200 to 500 base pairs) sequence of genomic DNA that has a single occurrence in the human genome and whose location and base sequence are known.
STS or Sequence Tagged Site A short region of genomic DNA which has been sequenced and from which a PCR reaction has been designed which will allow its recognition in a DNA sample.
