Thrombocytes

This is an autoimmune disorder in which the patient develops antibodies against his or her own platelets (thrombocytes).

Thrombocytes are important for blood coagulation and the formation of blood clots which can stop bleeding. Trauma to the internal organs or bones can cause internal bleeding, which can sometimes be severe.
