tibia
larger inner bone of lower leg of vertebrates; in an insect leg, the part between the femur and tarsus

Tibialis Posterior)
The posterior tibial artery (Fig. 551) begins at the lower border of the Popliteus, opposite the interval between the tibia and fibula; it extends obliquely downward, and, as it descends, ...

tibia - the long, slim segment of an insect's leg to which the tarsus is attached.

tibia
The anterior of the two long bones articulating in the hind limb. In humans, the tibia is the shinbone.

tibial nerve
inversion of the foot, plantar flexion of the foot at the ankle

tibia Podomere of an insect or acarine leg that articulates proximally with the femur in insects and patella in acarines and distally with the tarsus in insects or with the metatarsus or tarsus in acarines.

pollen packer (also called a pollen press) in the joint between the tibia and the first tarsal segment. With the stiff spines (the rake) of the pollen packer on one leg, the bee removes the pollen from the pollen brush of the opposite leg.

(Science: anatomy) The bone or cartilage between the radiale and ulnare in the carpus, and between the tibiale and fibulare in the tarsus.

Below a joint (elbow or knee), both limbs have a pair of bones (radius and ulna in the arms; tibia and fibula in legs) that connect to another joint (wrist or ankle). The carpals makeup the wrist joint; the tarsals are in the ankle joint.

- Insects belonging to the family Cicadellidae in the order Hemiptera. They are recognized by their piercing-sucking mouthparts and by the presence of rows of spine-like setae (hairs) in their hind tibiae.

It's hind limb has a short femur and a slightly shorter fibula and tibia. It has no thumb and a greatly reduced second digit. The other three fingers are quite long (relatively). In short, another variation of the basic mammalian leg.
