Biology TransverseTrematode

transversion mutation
a base pair substitution in which the purine-pyrimidine orientation on each DNA strand is reversed; i.e., AT to TA

Transversion
A base substitution mutation where a pyrimidine replaces a purine, or a purine replaces a pyrimidine.
Triplet
A sequence of three nucleotides. Typically refers to the codons and the corresponding genetic code.

Transversion A mutation in which a pyrimidine is substituted for a purine or vice versa. See transition.
Triploid A cell (or organism) having three haploid copies of the genome.
Trisomy having three copies of a single chromosome ...

transversion A type of base pair substitution in which a purine base is replaced by a pyrimidine base or vise versa. For example, A-T and G-C.

Transversion
The term proposed by Freese ( 1959) for a mutation caused by the substitution of a purine for a pyrimidine, and vice versa, in DNA or RNA. (Cf. Transition.)

transversional mutant A type of mutation in which a purine-pyrimidine base pair is replaced by a pyrimidine-purine base pair.
Trapezium trapez = a table.
trauma Injury caused by accident or violence.

These changes are classified as transitions or transversions[30]. Most common is the transition that exchanges a purine for a purine (A â†" G) or a pyrimidine for a pyrimidine, (C â†" T).

Instead of transitions being universally more prevalent than transversions, as is the case in most genes, A to C transversions are more frequent than transitions of C to T. There was also concern about the types of algorithms used.

(If one purine [A or G] or pyrimidine [C or T] is replaced by the other, the substitution is called a transition. If a purine is replaced by a pyrimidine or vice-versa, the substitution is called a transversion.) ...
