Venules are the blood vessels that exit the capillary beds and go on to form veins. The veins are thin walled with a larger bore and with less muscle and elastic fibers than arteries.

When blood leaves the capillaries and enters the venules and veins, little pressure remains to force it along. Blood in the veins below the heart is helped back up to the heart by the muscle pump.

Capillaries are very small and have thin walls to allow easier passage of compounds including nutrients, glucose, carbon dioxide, and waste products. After the capillaries, your blood passes through venules and veins.
