bumpkin - See "Boomkin." Bungee - Trade name for elastic cord, usually round but now available as flat. Often has hooks on each end and used to secure tarps and bundles of items, and tie things down.
Bumpkin: A short spar projecting over the stern of a sailing vessel to sheet the mizzen sail when the mizzen:mast is so far aft that there's not enough room inboard to bring down the sheet and trim the sail.
Boomkin (bumpkin)- Short spar extending aft from the transom. Used to anchor the backstay or the sheets from the mizzen on a yawl or ketch. Boot Top - A painted stripe that indicates the waterline. Bow - The forward part of a boat.
