Deckhead
What landsmen call the ceiling. To really throw you off, the "ceiling" in a ship is the planks on the inside of the hull.
Deck Trap ...

deckhead - The underside of the deck, viewed from below the ceiling.
depth sounder - An instrument that uses sound waves to measure the distance to the bottom.
deviation - See magnetic deviation or compass error.

Deckhead - The underside of the deck, viewed from below the ceiling.
Deep V - Refers to the shape of a boat's (usually power boat) hull. A deep V hull is usually good at cutting through rough waves at high speeds.

Deckhead - The underside of the deck, viewed from below the ceiling.
Declination - The angular distance North or South of the equator, measured from the center of the earth. It thus corresponds to latitude on the earths surface.

Hammock - Canvas sheets, slung from the deckhead in messdecks, in which seamen slept.

The interior is finished with a white deckhead and veneered mahogany, a Dufour trademark, which gives a pleasing effect with its carefully chosen grain patterns.

DECKHEAD The underside of the deck above. DINGHY A small open boat. A dinghy is often used as a tender for a larger craft. DISPLACEMENT The weight of water displaced by a floating vessel, thus, a boat's weight.
