Gaff rigged sloop - you won't see many of these today, but occasionally, you'll see maybe a custom built designed or built by someone with a more traditional opinion of how boats should be built.

On a gaff rigged sailing boat, a topsail is a triangular sail set between the gaff and the top of the mast or extended higher by a small boom.

Galley: - The kitchen of a ship.
Gallows- A frame used to rest the boom when the sail is down.

Used on gaff rigged boats.
Gaff Topsail - A light triangular or quadrilateral sail set over a gaff.
Gale - An unusually strong wind.

GAFF RIGGED - A sailboat whose principal sail is supported by a gaff.
GEAR - A general name for ropes, blocks, tackle and other equipment used with our aboard a boat.

topsail - A triangular sail set above the gaff on a gaff rigged boat.
topsides - The sides of the hull above the waterline and below the deck.
tow - To pull a boat with another boat, such as a tugboat towing a barge.

Gaff Sail:
A four sided sail used instead of a triangular main sail. Used on gaff rigged boats.
Gaff Topsail:
A light triangular or quadrilateral sail set over a gaff.

"Bermuda sloops" (not to be confused with the type of traditional Bermudian ship known as a Bermuda sloop), with a single foresail of the jib or genoa type and a single mainsail (one variation of the aforementioned Bermuda rig). Some are gaff rigged.
