Boating Jib stayJib-Boom

jib topsail - A small jib set high on the headstay of a double headsail rig.

jib topsail - A triangular headsail made of light canvas set upon the topmast stay above the jib.
jib traveller - The iron hoop, with hook and shackle, on the bowsprit to which the jib tack cringle is hooked.

The balloon jib topsail catches every stray breath of air that is spilled out of the spinnaker, and it also has considerable possibilities as a steering sail, in addition to its splendid pulling power.

The foremost one sets on the topmast forestay and is generally called the jib topsail, a second on the main forestay is called the jib, and the innermost is called the staysail.

A jib boom is a boom for a jib. A forestaysail (staysail) is set partway between the mast and headstay on the forestay (inner headstay). A jib topsail (jib top) is set high on the headstay.
