toe rail - A small rail around the deck of a boat. The toe rail may have holes in it to attach lines or blocks. A larger wall is known as a gunwale.
tonnage - The weight or displacement of a ship.
top mast - A mast on top of another mast.

 


toe rail - Low bulwark on a small decked boat.
toggle - A short rope with an eye at one end and a small piece of wood at the other, to insert in the eye and form a kind of strap or becket.

Scupper An opening through the toe rail or gunwale to allow water to drain back into the sea. Sea cock A valve used to prevent water from entering at a through hull. Secure To make fast. To stow an object or tie it in place.

SCUPPERS: Drain holes on deck, in the toe rail, or in bulwarks or (with drain pipes) in the deck itself.
SEA ANCHOR: Any device used to reduce a boat's drift before the wind.

When in toe rail, properly known as "freeing port"
Scuttle- A round window in the side or deck of a boat that may be opened to admit light and air, and closed tightly when required.
Seat Locker - A storage locker located under a cockpit seat.

Sea Cock
A through hull valve, a shut off on a plumbing or drain pipe between the vessel's interior and the sea.

Pronounced gunnel. The rail around the edge of a boat. Smaller versions are called toe rails.
gunter rig
Similar to a gaff rig, except that the spar forming the "gaff" is hoisted to an almost vertical position, extending well above the mast.

Gunnel, gunwale
Pronounced "gun-nel." The rail around the edge of a boat. Smaller versions are called toe rails.
Gybe
Same as jibe.

' But the deck is in teak and it does look nice and there is a generous teak toe rail. One photo shows a closed transom but I think the component that closes the cockpit aft may be removable because the other photos show a totally open transom.

If your sailboat does not have a midship horn cleat, you may use a chain plate (attaches the shroud to the boat), a hole in the toe rail or the jib's fairlead. It is not advisable to use a stanchion. Midship Spring line Animated GIF.
