Tumblehome: Inward slope of hull sides above the waterline - the opposite of flare. Tumblehome was a usual feature in sailing ships and many ships built before 1940.

The character of the sheer has been maintained along with freeboard, tumblehome and the contours of the cabintrunk. The look is pure vintage S&S. It's hard to imagine a better looking boat if you like these kinds of boats, and I do.
The curvature of the deck from stem to stern, known as sheer, along with the flare and tumblehome also determine the boat's displacement and buoyancy.
