Bisexual

Bonsai BisekiBlack pine

The flowers are generally unisexual, with male and female flowers appearing in separate sessile clusters, though they are sometimes also bisexual. They appear in spring from April to May, usually coming before the leaves.

The bisexual flower has two papery with five petals and four to seven stamens. Plants are very rarely know to flower in a pot, though a few reported sighting have been made. Usually after a prolongled perod of drought or lack of water.
