Acer palmatum Deshojo
My favourite was this Japanese maple (Acer palmatum Deshojo) with its magnificent spring display of colour. This informal upright tree is about 55 years old.
Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' or Acer palmatum 'Deshojo' are both Acer palmatum cultivars or varieties.

Among popular bonsai items is kiyohimemomiji which is a yatsufusa dwarf variety, and deshojomomiji whose fresh buds are reddish. Growers should select momiji trees with small leaves and many fine branches.
