Npk

Bonsai NodeNursery

NPK 0-10-10 is useful at this time as a fertilize low in nitrogen will help the plant prepare for it's winter dormant period.
In general feeding every 2-4 weeks is best, but don't feed the tree immediately after re-potting, wait three to four weeks.

Do use the correct NPK balance; by feeding with an incorrectly balanced fertiliser you can encourage root or flower growth at the expense of leaf and shoot growth.

Fertilizer - is "food" for trees, shrubs and plants; usually comprised of NPK: Nitrogen for the foliage, Phosphorous for the roots, and Potassium for the flowers.
28. Foliage pad - a mass of foliage on a branch; sometimes referred to as a cloud.

Personally I don't think the type of fertilizer matters a bit as long as it has what the plant needs, which is NPK and minor nutrients such as iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, molybdenum, boron, cobalt, and nickel.

All fertilizers provide a NPK value, which is very important for using the right type of fertilizer in the right season.

Inorganic fertilisers come in liquid and or solid forms and have a strength depicted by its NPK value. For example a fertiliser which has an NPK value of 10:10:10 means that it has all the primary nutrients in equally quantities in the preparation.

A few exceptions are worth noting: to encourage Bonsai to flower use a fertilizer with a high Potassium (K) content (like NPK 6:6:12) and for older trees you might want to use fertilizer with a slightly lower Nitrogen (N) content.

During the growing season use quarter strength of any balanced feed NPK 20-20-20 every watering. During growth keep removing large leaves, new leaves come back very quickly and smaller in size.

One type of fertilizer usually only obtainable from bonsai nurseries has an NPK (nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium) ratio of 0:10:10.

- Both types will have a content chart with ratings of Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium (NPK) and will look like this: 7-6-8
- Fertilizers high in N (Nitrogen) are rated 8 or higher ...

Fertilizer: This is "food" for your bonsai, shrubs, and plants usually comprised of NPK: Phosphorous for the roots, Nitrogen for the foliage, and Potassium for the flowers.

In experienced hands, they are well cared for, provided with appropriate environmental conditions, and supplied with adequate amounts of macro-nutrients (NPK) and micro-nutrients.

NPK - The chemical symbols for Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P), and Potassium (K),an abbreviation that may be used in denoting the relative proportions of these - elements as ingredients of a fertilizer.

By using a weaker strength of about twenty-twenty-twenty Nitrogen Phosphorus Potassium - NPK the Juniper Bonsai should have the perfect balance of nutrients.
