Pinnate, dark green leaves up to 30cm long are divided into 20+ lance-shaped, blunt leaflets. In May-June, R. pseudoacacia bears fragrant white flowers, 2cm long in pendant racemes, to 20cm long.
Pinnate-netted, penniribbed, penninerved, penniveined; the leaf has usually one main vein (called the mid-vein), with veinlets, smaller veins branching off laterally, usually somewhat parallel to each other; eg Malus (apples).
Notes :Pinnately compound even, 25-30 cm long with 10 to 12 lanceolate to narrow ovate leaflets, entire margins, tapering pointed tips, shiny green above, paler below. Red, Gold, Orange or Multicolored in Fall.
Bipinnate - Doubly pinnate, as of a leaf consisting of a central axis and lateral axes to which leaflets are attached. Bolt - The growth of a plant too quickly to flower at the expense of good overall development.
