Five Trunk (Gokan) - Five trunks, one root system
Seven Trunk (Nanakan) - Seven trunks, one root system ...

Triple Trunk Style (Sankan)
This style may have three, five, or seven trunks of different trunk diameters growing from a single root ball. If there are three trunks of differing diameters, then it is referred to as a father, mother, son arrangement.

Sokan, a tree with three trunks is a Sankan, and trees with five or more
trunks are called Kabudachi. All types have an odd number of trunks, except
for the Sokan of course. Developing an even number of trunks is not
practiced.
