Closed-end Investment Company A company with fixed capitalization whose shares are bought and sole by investors and whaose capital is invested in other companies.

Closed-end investment company
An investment company created with a fixed number of shares which are then traded as listed securities on a stock exchange. After the initial offering, existing shares can only be bought from existing shareholders.

Closed-End Investment Company An investment company that offers a limited number of shares. They are traded in the securities markets, usually through brokers. Share price is determined by supply and demand.

Closed-end investment company. Also called a closed-end fund, it is a pooled investment fund that issues a set number of shares and then no more.

Closed-end investment company: An investment company with a fixed number of shares that trade in the secondary market.
Closing purchase: A purchase of an option to eliminate or reduce a short options position.
