ORDER BOOK OFFICIAL (OBO): " Found on the CBOE, the OBO maintains a book of public orders for future execution.
ORDER ROOM " A department in a brokerage firm that receives all orders to buy or sell securities.

Order Book Official
The exchange employee in charge of keeping a book of public limit orders on exchanges utilizing the "marker-maker" system, as opposed to the "specialist system", of executing orders. See also Market-Marker and Specialist.

Order book official: An employee of the CBOE who maintains the public limit order file, which is similar to a specialist's book. Also referred to as an OBO or Board Broker, he executes limit orders for options.

Order Book Official - Is the book of public orders held for execution by the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE).
Order Support System - Is the Chicago Board Options Exchange's (CBOE) automated order system.

Order Book Official
A trading floor participant responsible for maintaining a list of public market or limit orders of a specific option class using the "market-marker" system of executing orders.

The order book official or specialist keeps the public book. Market-Makers on the CBOE can see the highest bid and lowest offer at any time.

Instruction to a broker/dealer to buy, sell, deliver, or receive securities or commodities that commits the issuer of the "order" to the terms specified. See: indication, inquiry, bid wanted, offer wanted.
