Phase space
Definition: [crh] A graph which shows all possible states of a system. In phase space we plot the value of a variable against possible values of the other variables at the same time.

An attractor in phase space, where the points never repeat themselves, and orbits never intersect, but they stay within the same region of phase space.

Limit Cycles An attractor for non-linear dynamic systems which has periodic cycles or orbits in phase space. An example is an undamped pendulum which will have a closed circle orbit equal to the amplitude of the pendulum's swing.

Strange Attractor An attractor in phase space, where the points never repeat themselves, and orbits never intersect, but they stay within the same region of phase space.
