Definition: [crh] Bond that can be subdivided into a series of zero-coupon bonds.

Stripped bonds and stripped coupons
Bonds with the interest coupons removed. Also called "zero-coupon bonds." Strips are the interest coupons themselves.

Stripped Bonds: Bonds issued by investment bankers against coupons or the maturity portion of original bearer bonds, where the original bonds are held in trust by the investment banker.

Also known as "stripped bonds" or "zeros," these securities are similar to regular-paying bonds. The difference is they're deeply discounted, selling for much lower than the par value of the bond.

Also known as a stripped bond. STRIP is an acronym for Separated Trading of Registered Interest and Principal of Securities. In options it is a strategy created by being long in one call and two put options with the exact same strike price.
