Unissued Stock - Shares of stock of an issuer which have been authorized but, not distributed through an underwriting or other means.

Unissued Stock - When a corporation possesses authorized common and preferred shares, but never actually exchanges them for money or services.

Unissued stock - Refers to shares that have been authorised but have not been issued. Assume authorised shares of 500,000 and issued shares of 200,000. The unissued shares are 300,000.

Unissued Stock
Shares of stock that are authorized in the corporate charter but not yet issued. Unissued shares are issued on the direction of the corporation's board of directors.

Authorized but unissued stock of a company or previously issued shares that have been re-acquired by the corporation. The amount still represents part of those issued but is not included in the number of shares outstanding.

In accounting, a term used to identify the various classes or categories of equity investment in a corporation, such as AUTHORIZED STOCK, ISSUED AND OUTSTANDING, TREASURY STOCK, and UNISSUED STOCK.

Authorized shares not yet issued are called "unissued stock". Issued shares repurchased by the corporation are called "treasury stock". Treasury stock is held in the corporate treasury pending reissue or retirement.
