Audi A3 Attraction Cabriolet First Drive
Launched in Europe in early 2008 the A3 Cabriolet went on sale in Australia mid year, just in time for the upcoming warmer months. It's currently available with two engine options, both of which are petrol.

Predictably, a comparably equipped Audi A3 will cost £1000 more, whereas the Peugeot 308 CC is nearly identically priced, and the Mégane is £1000 cheaper. But for many, the surprise will be that the Golf doesn't undercut these rivals.

Expect engines to follow those in the Audi A3, which means common-rail diesels and lots of lovely little direct-injection turbo petrols.
For people who want a MINI that's much more practical, this is the car. Compared to Audi A3, it's a great deal and really a sweet car.

While 34K definitely isn't cheap (32K would have been more acceptable), I think that's a decent price for the Golf R. Unfortunately, I think this will steal many potential Audi A3 buyers though.
