Simplest is best, so not only is the 2.0 TFSI the best TT, it's even better if you forget the quattro four-wheel-drive, DSG semi-auto gearbox and over-firm S line suspension options.

The Audi TT could have easily been yet another example of a concept car heavily altered when taken "mainstream," but it wasn't.

The new Audi TT is an improvement on the original car - no question about it. It looks better, it has a more capable chassis, and the entry-level 2.0-litre engine is no longer suffering from malnutrition.

The Audi TT Coupe 180 hp Model begins with standard five-speed manual transmission with synchronized reverse gear and dual mass flywheel. It is equipped with front-wheel drive, with quattro four-wheel full-time drive available.

The Audi TT has been re-engineered for 2008 and Audi has done a fine job of updating it. The 2008 model is dynamically superior to it predecessor and its edgier looks are already making the last model seem old.

The new Audi TT was a revelation on its own, trading in a powderpuff reputation for a bullish new approach.

Quick Summary
Highly Recommended. The looks, the image, the whole shebang. This is an iconic coupe and one that continues to turn heads no matter how many there are on the road.

The Audi TT isn't so much a sports car as a handbag on wheels. I'm not saying TT drivers are girly men. The difference between a dignified brief case and an adorable handbag is style, not utility.

Jetta shares its platforms and powertrains with the Golf, New Beetle and the Audi TT coupe. About 60% of its components are shared with the Golf, although that includes none of the body panels except the front doors.

The S2000 is, like the Audi TT, a cleverly-designed car getting a lot of power out of a small package. You might wish for more sheer grunt at the low end and mid-range of the rev curve but that is not what is on offer.

Like its predecessor, the new Audi TT is one of the more positive appearances on the coupe market.

It looks understated, but eats Audi TTs

Derivatives of the AWD fourth generation Golf, (now renamed the "Golf 4Motion") such as the Audi TT and the A3 quattro will use this system. Note that this is still a part time, automatically engaging four wheel drive system.

Yet it doesn't in any way loudly announce its presence.
As for the roof line, I could be wrong but I didn't notice anything unusual about it. If you want to see ugly roof lines, look at the humpbacked Audi TT and BMW 1 coupes.
