A prosaically black Austin A30 built up much mileage as Dad ferried young amateur boxers from his local club to bouts in every one of the 26 counties.
Bluntly, the worst car I have ever owned, and my past ownership includes an Austin Allegro! I only gave it a "1" becuase I couldn’t give it "0"! I bought this car in February 2010 and took delivery in May 2010.

BOB - I've always been a small sedan guy, Matt, ever since the days of the Austin A40 and the original VW Bug of 40 years ago.
The engineering is lowest common denominator and the build quality is a throwback to the days of the Austin Allegro. The only modern aspect of the car is the price, which is well beyond merely optimistic.
The MINI has a predecessor, the extremely popular Austin and Morris Minis first produced by the British Motor Corporation beginning in 1959. Anyone in England in the Happening '60s might well wonder what Brits drove before the Mini appeared.
I've owned English cars starting from the Austin A35 (1949) thro to a larger model with sun roof to MGs to 2 Austin Healeys to finally a XK150SS .
The parking brake is on the right, as on the Synergie that preceded the C8, and as on the Austin A35 van that preceded that. Why not? It allows unobstructed, unimpeded access to the brats in the back.
