The BMW 5 Series puts an emphasis on the driving. This mid-size luxury sedan remains a true sports sedan in any of its variations, including the 530ix wagon and other models equipped with all-wheel drive.
The BMW 535i exactly splits the difference between the 3-Series and the 7-Series. I tend to find that the 3-Series has an exaggerated weight to its controls, specifically the steering, and a ponderous nature to its movements.
The BMW 540i and 540iT wagon are both equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 engine. This produces 290 hp at 5400 rpm and 324 lb-ft of torque at 3600.

It's enormous, noticably bigger inside and out than its BMW 5 Series and Audi A6 rivals. The cabin offers a very comfortable environment to spend time in, progress is made in well insulated comfort thanks to a soft, comfortable ride.
It's a large saloon, closer in size to the BMW 5 Series than the Mondeo-segment which it slots into over here.
How can A/W mention the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo in the same breath as the CLS or the A7. I think it's one of the most hideously designed cars, outside of the X6, that BMW ever did.
And on the subject of name dropping, the Hyundai Grandeur proves a larger draw than either the BMW 5-Series or Mercedes-Benz E-Class in terms of dimensional appeal, although bearing in mind it only comes in the one engine, ...
When Lexus released it's third generation GS series mid-sized luxury cars in 2005 - rivals to the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Audi A6 range - the look hit me with real force and I was quite taken with the new look.
If the environment was the only card Lexus had played it would be a flimsy hand indeed, but the GS 450h is a mighty impressive car when judged against the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes E-Class and Audi’s A6.
Volvo also says that its S80 has the largest passenger compartment in a luxury-sedan class that includes the Audi A6, Lexus ES 300 and GS 300, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the BMW 5 Series and the Acura RL.
