The name "Silverado" has been used for the top-of-the-line Chevrolet pickups for nearly 25 years. Now it is on all models of the newest generation of the Chevy truck. Does this mean Chevy has forgotten its massive customer base and gone upscale?
The Silverado SS is the most potent Chevrolet pickup ever produced, eclipsing the previous benchmark, the 454 SS (1990-1993), in both handling and performance.
The first Chevrolet pickup truck appeared in 1924, though in-house designs did not appear until 1930. "C" trucks had two-wheel drive while "K" models had four-wheel drive.
Overall, its a look that a lot of truck buyers will like: more upscale than the Chevrolet pickup, more conservative than the Dodge or Ford pickups.
