It was designed as a modern interpretation of the Chrysler Airflow with Dodge Neon components, but the final design used a separate platform.

9-ton bulk with svelte, curvaceous coachwork topped off with the most handsome incarnation yet of Audi's corporate front end, a "waterfall" grille that is reminiscent of a pre-war Triumph Dolomite or Chrysler Airflow.
