BOB - The Dodge Van line has three different engines available. Our tester had the bottom-of-the-line 3.9-liter V6 that puts out a paltry 175 horses, but with 235 pound-feet of torque, it's obviously tuned for pulling.
With many drivers reporting good reliability from their Dodge vans, it's curious that DaimlerChrysler is dropping the full-size Dodge Ram Van Cargo from its lineup at the end of the 2003 model year, which occurs in mid-June.
The actual names were Dodge Sportsman, Dodge Van, and Plymouth Voyager (1974-1983) at first; they later changed to Ram Van, Ram Wagon, and, briefly, Mini Ram Van. There was also a Kary Van extended height model.
The Odyssey and Sienna remain the segment leaders, with better all-around capabilities, more refined drivetrains and additional available features." Other reviewers agree that the Dodge van is much improved, but that others in the class are better.
