Giardinetta Name used in Italy in the 70s and early 80s in models for an Autobianchi three-door station wagon based on Fiat 600, as well as a similar version of the Alfa Romeo Alfasud.
Taking its name from one of the most popular models in the Italian manufacturer's history, the Fiat Seicento (originally intended to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Fiat 600) has become a huge success in its own right.
His special parts used to arrive at the tuning shop in a wooden crate. And the spannermen would get to work turning a humble FIAT 600 into an Abarth 750TC, then 850TC and eventually 1000TC developing as much as 108bhp.
You're absolutely right etdweasel, Issigonis designed a real minicar just like Dante Giacosa with his FIAT 600 did before him.
