The big downside is its relative lack of space when compared to more modern rivals like the Fiat Grande Punto and Vauxhall Corsa.
Critics praise the way the interior looks and feels - despite being based on a Fiat Grande Punto, the consensus seems to be that its roots aren't immediately obvious, with the dash clad in smart materials and funky-looking details.
Although the Corsa uses the same chassis as the Fiat Grande Punto, the Corsa is better to drive and the suspension smoothes all but the harshest bumps.
However it's still lacking in interior space when compared to other small such as the Toyota Yaris, Renault Clio and Fiat Grande Punto. Road and wind noise are kept to a minimum, but the sound of the engine can often be quite invasive.
