Engine: Ford 2.0-litre 4-cylinder
The transversely mounted 1999cc L4 engine has an aluminium alloy cylinder head and engine block. The valvetrain includes 4-valves per cylinder actuated by chain-driven dual overhead camshafts (DOHC).
The Peugeot/Ford 2.0-litre, Dagenham-built turbodiesel is gruff but powerful, although it feels heavy and sluggish after the 1.6 Ecoboost.
I have a Mazda and Ford 2.5 TDI excellent engines, terrible drivetrain and transmissions. I have paid the best people to balance propshafts and to work on the gearboxes and the shutter and humming is still there - CJ from South Africa ...

It is a brilliantly smooth engine, and though with different sound and performance characteristics to the other Ford 2-litre TDCi used in the Mondeo, its 320 Nm of torque gives this particular C-MAX a very sporty character.
Like other Hummers, the H3 was built not for 0-60 acceleration but for its ability to climb 60 percent (31-degree) grades, to handle 40 percent side slopes, and to ford 24 inches of water.
It is rated at 16 MPG in the city cycle with both transmissions and 19 MPG with the automatic or 20 MPG with the manual on the highway. While the Hummer H2 will ford 20-inches of water, the H3 will handle 24-inches of water.
