The factory Ford 4.6-liter V8 provides 260 hp and 302 pound feet of torque at 4200 rpm. The Roush treatment extracts 379 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, with torque peaking at 3000 rpm.
Engine: Ford 4.0-litre Inline 6-cylinder
The 3.6-litre (3564cc) longitudinally mounted GM engine is a vee 6-cylinder mill with aluminium alloy heads and engine block, and has 4-valves per cylinder for a grand total of 24-valves.
Under the hood is a SOHC version of the Ford 4.0L V-6 that's been with us for at least ten years in the Explorer, first with an OHV heads, and for the past few years, with a SOHC head. Power went up from 160 hp to 205-210 depending on the application.
The design of the Fusion was inspired by the Ford 427 concept, a model that was popular with crowds at recent auto shows, Rob Marner, the Fusion brand manager for Ford, told me.
0-liter engine is quieter than the old Ford 4.2-liter, you almost can't hear the growl of the powerful engine any more. Even with the top down, it doesn't rumble unless you're up near redline.

Love the 4x4; when I select the 4x4, it engages quickly, unlike my former Ford 4x4, where you had to wait for it.
The 2WD traction is excellent, where I found in heavy snow I didn't need 4x4.
They included the supercharged
5.4-liter V-8 from the Ford GT, as well as turbocharged 4.6-liter and 5.4-liter mills. Outstanding engines, yes, but they didn't pack the spiritual punch of Shelby's overpowering Ford 427.
