The design of the Fusion was inspired by the Ford 427 concept, a model that was popular with crowds at recent auto shows, Rob Marner, the Fusion brand manager for Ford, told me.
Kelley Blue Book explains, "The Fusion's exterior design began with the dynamic exterior of the Ford 427 concept car, including the three-bar grille and trapezoidal, multi-element projector-beam headlamps.
